How to Use a Project Charter

Define Purpose and Objectives: Identify why the project is necessary and what it seeks to accomplish. This should include the specific improvement goals and how they align with broader organizational objectives.
Set Scope and Boundaries: Clarify what’s included in the project and what isn’t to prevent scope creep and focus efforts on what’s achievable within the timeframe and resources.
Identify Stakeholders and Team Members: Specify who’s involved in the project, their roles, and their responsibilities to clarify accountability and ensure everyone understands their part in the project’s success.
Establish Success Criteria: Determine how you’ll measure success (e.g., KPIs or specific milestones), and ensure these metrics are clear and agreed upon by stakeholders.
